Foal Futurity

High Point

SMALL SHETLAND HIGH POINT COMPETITION

OPEN TO ALL SHETLAND PONIES REGISTERED WITH THE APSB AND NOT EXCEEDING 8.2HH.

also now open to registered Appendix ponies

Every entrant receives a hand made rosette all kindly donated by Karen Hendley - Jarrah lodge stud which is such a generous offer!

Points can be collected from ANY Shetland class at ANY Agricultural Show, as well as all APSB group shows.

Any APSB or APSB Promotional Group run shows are DOUBLE POINT shows.

The Victorian APSB Stud Show is a TRIPLE POINT show as well as any Miniature Pony Show’s Dual registered classes – (must be reg. Shetland and Mini Pony).  These double or triple points are often the difference between the top placings so attending as many of these shows as possible will ensure you get the most points you can.

Please ensure you put the correct name of the show on your card when filling in results, not just the location of the venue, thanks

POINT SCORE SYSTEM:

1st Place = 4 points

2nd Place = 3 points

3rd Place = 2 points

4th Place = 1 point

Champion = 2 points

Reserve Champion/Supreme/Best = 1 point

Competition runs from April to end Feb each year

Entry Fee is $10.00 per Pony and $5.00 per Child Handler

You can enter as many Ponies/Handlers as you like.

We will now be trialling 3 Performance Sections - the criteria for these will be a little bit different as ponies can be involved in a number of activities which may not necessarily be competitive in nature.

All Cards need to be returned to the High Point Coordinator by or just after 28th of February for points to be tallied. The winners will be announced and prizes presented at the Small Shetland Group annual autumn show held in April.  Details of this will be on our website.  If you win an award and are unable to attend the show for pick-up, postage to you can be arranged at your cost or there might be a mutually convenient pick up location after this date (ie one of the foal shows).  Points are gained from your main Shetland led class on the day and any championship awards following that, please do not include colour, handler or group classes on your pony cards.  Cards may be signed by the judge or steward on the day, or a member of committee may sign if they are present.  Entry fee for the junior handlers is $5.00, age taken at the time of application and remains the same for the duration of the high point season.  Points for the handlers are gained in any handler classes where the child is leading a registered APSB small Shetland pony 8.2hh & under, ie AMPS classes, pinto, open breed ring etc.  Every child handler will win an award as we want to encourage our younger members.
